Nursing Supervisor (Emergency Room)

The employee will:
Reviews and monitors staffing requirements according to the needs of the service ensuring that the level of clinical skills available is taken into account.
Directs the delivery of patient care through thoughtful delegation and empowerment of Head Nurses, Assistant Head Nurses and Charge Nurses ensuring that care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated according to an acceptable agreed standard.
Ensures the competence of staff is monitored through the implementation of regular performance reviews and agreed goals are achieved through facilitation and mentorship.
Prepares and implements the operational and capital budget, monitoring supply order and supply levels in relation to budget for the department.
Through example, encourages greater understanding, harmony and collaborative working within the multidisciplinary teams in the interest of better care for patients.
Plans and participates in the recruitment and selection of new staff, ensures that their orientation is appropriate.
Promotes the continuing professional development of staff and ensures the provision of the best quality of patient care within available resources.
Participates in Quality Management Teams to maintain hospital accreditation.
Actively and positively participates in the development and implementation of the Department of Nursing strategic plans.
Promotes and maintains a, safe, therapeutic environment for patients where supplies and equipment is adequate and regularly maintained and staff are aware of hazards and take action to minimize risk.
Undertakes the management of risk issues by promptly investigating and following through on all untoward incidents, where necessary makes recommendations and implements preventative measures.
Responds to problems, conflicts and complaints in a timely, logical, analytical and knowledgeable manner, observing established policies and procedures and cultural norms and utilizing where appropriate the expertise, experience and wisdom of peers, senior colleagues and Chiefs of Department to find solutions.
Monthly meeting with Nursing management team and Head Nurse within the Division.
Complies with the standards laid down by the Approved International Accreditation Standards.
Reports any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the hospital or standard of service of patients, employees or visitors and situations which put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm.
Provides professional and specialist advice on the provision of nursing care and on the nursing management of patients in the department.
Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
Minimum Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Registered Nurse and Current License
Relevant Post Registration and Clinical Qualification Nursing
Valid Registration in Saudi Council
Certificate in the management skill
Minimum of eight (8) years experience in acute hospital nursing include (3) years experience in Supervisory position.
