Study & Train in USA

The shortage of qualified Healthcare personnel in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is reaching alarming figures.  International Hospitals Recruitment Inc. (IHR) along with Florida International University are teaming up to address the issue and offer training, research and education programs to the region. This includes both in-house and/or in the USA options.

Though new to the Middle East region, Florida International University (FIU: is not new to the challenges of international education, training and research as it is one of the most active and successful institutions of higher learning within the Western hemisphere encompassing the Central/South Americas and Caribbean region.

FIU is an American metropolitan public research university in Greater Miami, Florida, United States. As America’s fourth largest public university with over 56,000 students, it is supported by a world class faculty from all regions of the world, and is perfectly aligned with many of the healthcare challenges that face professionals within the MENA region.

FIU is classified as a research university with the highest research activity by the Carnegie foundation, awarding over 3,400 graduate and professional degrees annually. The university offers 191 programs of study with more than 280 majors in 23 colleges and schools. FIU offers many graduate programs, including medicine, nursing & allied health, public health, international & public administration, business administration, engineering, and architecture, offering 81 master's degrees, 34 doctoral degrees and 3 professional degrees.

It is the goal of FIU leadership to reach out to the Middle East and expand its international footprint within the MENA region, to provide collaborative two-way assistance within the areas of education, training and research that promote better healthcare, primary healthcare access, disease prevention, medical diagnosis, clinical treatment and effective rehabilitation for the citizenry within the MENA region.

How best to assist and through which methodology is something that must be defined for each and every challenge, be it an in-region presence, distance learning or a blend of each. FIU is ready to discuss and most willing to implement existing or mutually developed customized programs to ensure innovative, facility specific, state-of-the-art solutions for targeted resolution to regional challenges.

Through professional development programs such as CME, symposiums, conferences, specialized training and education, FIU is ready to 1) Listen, 2) Collaborate, and 3) Propose in order to target the facilities’ needs and requirements.

The FIU Academic Heath Center (AHC) includes colleges of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences, Public Health & Social Work and International & Public Affairs; all of which function inter-disciplinarily with the colleges of Business, Engineering & Computing, Arts, Sciences & Education and several others.

College of Medicine (COM):

The doctor of medicine (MD) degree curriculum emphasizes the social determinants of health; both in the traditional classroom setting and in the community classroom through team-based and household-centered care.
