Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, the physician is responsible for performing procedural and consultative duties as assigned by the Department Chairman.

Education/Qualifications Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Cardiology
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC -Cardiology)
      • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – Cardiology )
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP – Cardiology)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
  • Current BLS/ACLS Certificate

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of adult cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as echocardiography, stress tests, electrocardiograms (ECG), Holter monitoring, and cardiac MRI/CT.
  • Provide expert guidance on medical and interventional treatment plans, including pharmacological management and lifestyle modifications.
  • Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures, such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and pacemaker implantation, as per expertise and hospital guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive cardiovascular care, including coordination with cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, and other specialists.
  • Participate in patient education and counseling on cardiovascular risk factors, disease management, and preventive strategies.
  • Contribute to the training and mentorship of medical residents, fellows, and junior staff in adult cardiology.
  • Engage in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and advance cardiology practice.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in on-call duties, providing emergency cardiovascular care and consultations as needed.
