
Internal Medicine, Cancer Control Unit Consultant
Summary
Responsible for uses chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a range of other treatments to care for patients with cancer.
Education / Qualification Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
- UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
- Experience in Cancer Control Unit is a Must
License:
Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Independently provide direct patient care in Cancer Control & Outreach (ward rounds, clinics, and on-calls) including survivorship/smoking cessation clinic and primary care clinic.
- Independently provide consultations to other specialties in the hospital.
- Prescribe and administer medications as indicated.
- Participate in the department / division administrative meetings.
- Participate in the department / division educational activities (journal club, tumor board, lectures)
- Participate in the department / division research activities
- Participate in the hospital / department committees upon request
- To supervise the sub consultant physicians.
- Participate in training and education of rotating residents and junior staff members.
- Perform and cover other duties as delegates by the chairman or division head.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Perform other job related duties.
