
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Manager
Summary
Plans, directs, and manages the services, activities, and staff of the Invasive Cardiology Lab as directed by the Director, Heart Centre and Director, Clinical Services.
Education/Qualifications Required:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health Science, or other related discipline is required.
- Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Certificate in Cardiovascular Technology
Experience Required:
Grade 11:
Five (5) years of related experience including two (2) years in a seniority position with Master’s or seven (7) years with Bachelor’s Degree of similar requirements is required.
Grade 12:
Seven (7) years of related experience including four (4) years as a Manager, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Grade 11) with Master’s or nine (9) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required.
License:
Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the overall quality of services provided in the Invasive Cardiology Lab.
- Suggests cost effective operations for the Invasive Cardiology Lab with the allocated resources in accordance with outcome performance measurement programs.
- Carries out short and long range operations to ensure the accomplishment of the clinical, financial, and administrative objectives of the Invasive Cardiology Lab, as directed.
- Assists with the revision, development and implementation of Internal Policies and Procedures.
- Assists with the implementation of the Invasive Cardiology Lab Continuous Quality Improvement Program and monitors the Lab for compliance of JCIA and other applicable standards. Oversees PI Projects.
- Supervises the quality and competence of the Invasive Cardiology Lab technical staff through skill based competency assessments, in-service education and workshops. Ensures that new personnel are properly oriented. Oversees the Invasive Cardiology Lab In-Service Education Program. Organizes for attendance at relevant conferences, seminars and workshops.
- Provides reports for Invasive Cardiology Lab Section equipment’s, staffing, process…etc. as required.
- Evaluates employee performance, Counsels staff and recommends disciplinary actions as required.
- Reviews employment applications, interviews candidates, discusses applicants with Director/Chairman and makes recommendations.
- Oversees staffing schedules and ensures that all sections have 24/7 adequate coverage for the provision of service.
- Evaluates equipment requests and makes recommendations to the Director/Chairman regarding purchase, upgrades and replacements. Ensures all equipment is operating properly, is regularly maintained and repaired.
- Oversees the overall quality of services provided in the Invasive Cardiology Lab.
- Suggests cost effective operations for the Invasive Cardiology Lab with the allocated resources in accordance with outcome performance measurement programs.
- Complies with the section policies, procedures and protocols. Establish a continues quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, SFDA and other accreditation agencies standards.
- Complies with Radiation safety rules and regulation of the hospital and in accordance with KACST and K.A. CARE and other national or international regulation bodies.
- Applies and ensures compliance with ALARA principle role for all procedure involving radiation exposure.
- Follows all Hospital related Policies and Procedures.
- Participates in self and others’ education, training and development, as applicable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
