Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, the physician is responsible for performing procedural and consultative duties as assigned by the Department Chairman

Education/Qualifications Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Cardiology 
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC -Cardiology)
      • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – Cardiology )
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP – Cardiology)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
  • Current BLS/ACLS Certificate

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a second or third On-Call physician for monthly roster in Adult Cardiology.
  • Perform as a consultant in the various cardiac specialties, i.e. Clinical Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiological services and Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging.
  • In-charge of divisional academic activities, i.e. journal club and Adult Cardiology lectures.
  • Perform as Consultant In-Charge as delegated in the covered specialty area.
  • Perform/serve in the various hospital or departmental committees as directed.
  • Participate in the departmental educational programs and activities as well as in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
  • Supervise and evaluate residents rotating in the cardiac services.
  • Participate in the various hospital or departmental medical reviews and investigations.
  • Supervise, participate in the research projects of the junior staff.
  • Must be flexible and cooperative to cover other duties as needed by staff members.
  • Participate in the departmental and hospital Quality Management activities.
  • Must strictly adhere to hospital policies and procedures and rules and regulations.
  • Act as role model for junior staff in academic, clinical, social and ethical aspects.
  • Ensure delivery of Adult Cardiology services at a very high professional level.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the Chairman of Cardiac Sciences or Head Section.
