
Endodontics Consultant
Summary
Within the mission, vision, and values of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, the Consultant in Endodontics provides expert diagnosis and management of diseases and injuries affecting the dental pulp and periapical tissues. The consultant ensures high-quality patient care, supervises and mentors junior dental staff, participates in academic and research activities, and adheres to best practices in endodontic treatment.
Education/Qualifications Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
- UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
License:
Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage complex endodontic cases, including root canal treatments, retreatments, apical surgery, and management of dental trauma.
- Perform advanced endodontic procedures using modern techniques such as rotary instrumentation, operating microscopes, and digital radiography.
- Develop individualized treatment plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide consultation services for referring dentists and other healthcare professionals on complex endodontic cases.
- Supervise and mentor Associate Consultants, Assistant Consultants, residents, and dental students in endodontic procedures and clinical decision-making.
- Utilize advanced technologies, including CBCT imaging, for precise diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives for infection control, quality improvement, and patient safety.
- Engage in clinical research, academic teaching, and continuing education programs to enhance endodontic knowledge and practice.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory policies regarding patient care and professional ethics.
- Contribute to public health initiatives by educating patients and the community on endodontic treatment and oral health preservation.
