
Interventional Neuro-Radiologist
Summary
This is a Consultant Role Position responsible to deal with vascular diseases of the brain and spine from inside the blood vessels by catheters and wires in Cath-labs, not as regular neurosurgeons do in operating room with open surgery.
Interventional Neuroradiologist (refer to as Endovascular Neurosurgery) use cutting edge imaging and guidance techniques to guide catheters and other tiny instruments around the arteries and veins in the head, neck or spine to treat conditions such as strokes or aneurysms.
Education/Qualifications Required:
Basic medical degree from recognized institution preferably in Radiology
Post-qualification certification
Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
USA: The American Board of Radiology, The American Board of Interventional Radiology or Endovascular Neurosurgery
Fellowship Training at least 2 years in a recognized center of Interventional Neuro-Radiology
Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience Post Post-Qualifications:
Minimum One (1) year of experience post board certification in country of origin / country of practice
License:
Current and clean medical license to practice in country of origin or country to practice
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides high quality patient care and management of patients in this area of Neuroradiology
Provides consultative services as requests
Performs special procedures as required
Participates in committees and other administrative functions as needed
Participates in research activities
Supervises fellows, assistant physicians and residents
Participates actively in the training and teaching of residents and fellows in his/her area of expertise
Participates actively in the educational activity of the Section
Participates actively in the educational activity of the Department of Neuroradiology
Participates in patient education
Follows all Hospital-related policies and procedures
Performs other related duties as assigned
