Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Qualifications Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiography, or graduation from an accredited diploma program (minimum three (3) year curriculum), is required

  • Current national license is required

  • Graduation from an accredited nuclear medicine program is preferred

  • Master’s degree in nuclear imaging or relevant clinical master’s degree in a related field is preferred (will reduce one (1) year from the required years of experience)

Experience Required: 

  • Minimum of four (4) years post graduate experience in Nuclear Medicine in an acute care hospital (of which not less than two (2) years experience as a lead NM Radiographer in an acute care hospital) is required

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathological processes

  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and radiologists to coordinate proper imaging of patients

  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to speak and write in English is required / Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred

Duties / Responsibilities: 

  • Leads and manages shift assignments and coverage for their modality

  • Leads educational and training programs for employees regarding equipment usage, new protocols, patient safety, and career development

  • Leads programs for performance improvement, efficiency and productivity, employee engagement and patient experience

  • Provides an advanced consultative technical resource and assists the manager in the supervision and technical development of the assigned radiology section

  • Assists the diagnostics supervisor with the maintenance of all required section records and the provision of any statistical data that might be required in support of management activities

  • Perform nuclear imaging procedure according to department protocols.

  • Perform Radiopharmaceutical kit preparations  according to departmental procedure and manufacture specification. 

  • Demonstrates general job knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures and equipment necessary for job performance.

  • Take responsibility for patient radiation safety by following established guidelines and protocol.

  • Overseas all supply orders for both patient care and department needs.

  • Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures.

  • Delivers high quality patient care at all times 

  • Maintain required record keeping and documentation.
