Summary
Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian National Guard – Health Affairs, to provide patient care; education and training for Associate Consultants, Assistant Consultants and Medicine residents. Undertake clinical research; self education and participate in on-call schedule of the Division of Medical Imaging
Education/Qualifications Required:
- Basic medical degree from a recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
- UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
License:
Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures quality and appropriateness of patient care and safety.
- Follows Organizational/ Departmental Policies and Procedures.
- Interpret and report musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging studies, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy related to bones, joints, muscles, and soft tissues.
- Perform and oversee image-guided musculoskeletal procedures such as joint injections, aspirations, nerve blocks, and biopsies.
- Provide expert opinions and second readings on complex musculoskeletal cases.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of imaging studies, adhering to hospital protocols and best practices.
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, physiatrists, sports medicine specialists, and other referring physicians to guide patient management.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) to discuss complex cases and recommend imaging-guided treatment options.
- Ensures the maintenance of high medical ethical standards in the practice of Musculoskeletal Imaging
- Provides ambulatory consults and genetic counseling for high-risk obstetric patients.
- Supervises with other senior staff the routine and high-risk ultrasound results.
- Performs tertiary level ultrasound scans.
