Summary

Responsible in treating abnormalities in the central and peripheral nervous system, spine, head and neck. They can also treat diseases by means of minimally-invasive, image-guided surgery.

Education / Qualification Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
      • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsabilities
  • Provides high quality patient care in all aspects of Neuroradiology Medicine according to his/her approved clinical privileges.
  • Provides consultantion (inpatient, and emergency room) upon request and responds in a timely manner within the prescribed timeframe as outlined in hospital policy.
  • Responsible for the timely completion, competencies, accuracy and eligibility of the medical record.
  • Provides on-call service and ensures availability and response time within the prescribed timeframe in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Conducts daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge. Ensures that discharge orders are writthen 24 hours prior to discharge. Ensures that discharge orders are written 24 hours prior to discharge.
  • Perform any other clinical responsabilities related to the specialty, as assigned.
Academic Responsabilities
  • Provides orientation, bedside training and supervision to interns, residents and fellows as assigned.
  • Participates in educational activities and training programs of the deparment. Partakes in national and international medical conferences.
  • Maintains and enhances professional knowledge and continuing education requirements.
Research Responsabilities
  • Participates in clinical, basic and translational research projects in accordance with Research Advisory Council Policy in order to advance knowledge, improve the quality of post graduate education and contribute to the national and international recognition of KFSH&RC.

Administrative Responsabilities

  • Undertakes the administrative duties assigned by Head of Section or Chairman
  • Participates in all mandatory departmental activities and serves on departmental and hospital committees and other administrative functions, as required.
  • Assists the department in the development and implemention of techniques and practices that help maximize the utilization of all resources within the department and across the hospital.
  • Abides by the current hospital and medical staff bylaws, all relevant rules, regulations and policies and keeps updated of any changes that might occur.
  • Participates in self-and others’ education, training and development as applicable
  • Follows all hospital-related policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
