Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, the physician is responsible for performing procedural and consultative duties as assigned by the Department Chairman

Education/Qualifications Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
  3. Specialization in Cranofacial 
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO)
      • Canada: Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC)
      • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register in Orthodontics
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP) in Orthodontics
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide high standard and quality patient care in accordance with the NGHA mission, vision, and values in the Craniofacial Orthodontics specialty
  • Oversee and deliver inpatient care for craniofacial and complex orthodontic patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) in multidisciplinary environments
  • Manage and coordinate treatment plans for patients with craniofacial conditions, ensuring integration with other specialties (including maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, pediatrics, and speech therapy)
  • Provide consultation services to other divisions and departments during regular work and on-call hours per departmental policies and procedures
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic orthodontic and craniofacial procedures for which specific privileges have been granted based on training, qualifications, experience, and skills
  • Participate in on-call coverage in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Craniofacial Unit or Orthodontics Department
  • Actively participate in Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives within the department
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, acting as a role model for clinical and professional standards
  • Serve on division, departmental, and organizational committees as appointed by department leadership or executive management
  • Engage in scientific research and contribute to departmental educational activities, postgraduate teaching, and training programs as required
  • Participate in ongoing educational opportunities to acquire new skills and support career advancement
  • Advocate for the health needs and well-being of children and families with craniofacial conditions
  • Adhere to all departmental and organizational rules, regulations, and medical staff bylaws, maintaining ethical and professional standards
  • Perform other relevant duties and tasks as assigned by the department chairman
