Summary

Responsible to treat infant, child and adolescent patients who have been diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders

Education / Qualification Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
      • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
  • Current BLS/ACLS Certificate

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently provide direct patient care in Pediatric Hematology Oncology (ward rounds, clinics and on-calls)
  • Independently provides consultations to other specialties in the hospital
  • Perform bone marrow aspirates, biopsies and other related procedures
  • Prescribe and administer medications (chemotherapeutic agents)
  • Participate in the department/division administrative meetings
  • Participate in the department/division educational meetings (journal club, tumor board, lectures, etc.)
  • Participate in the department/division research activities
  • Participates in the hospital/department committees upon request
  • To supervise the sub consultant physicians
  • Perform and cover other duties as delegated by the chair or division head
  • Adhere strictly to all hospital policies and procedures
