Summary
Responsible to treat infant, child and adolescent patients who have been diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders
Education / Qualification Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
- UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
License:
- Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
- Current BLS/ACLS Certificate
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Independently provide direct patient care in Pediatric Hematology Oncology (ward rounds, clinics and on-calls)
- Independently provides consultations to other specialties in the hospital
- Perform bone marrow aspirates, biopsies and other related procedures
- Prescribe and administer medications (chemotherapeutic agents)
- Participate in the department/division administrative meetings
- Participate in the department/division educational meetings (journal club, tumor board, lectures, etc.)
- Participate in the department/division research activities
- Participates in the hospital/department committees upon request
- To supervise the sub consultant physicians
- Perform and cover other duties as delegated by the chair or division head
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies and procedures
