Summary

Within the mission, vision, and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, actively participate in providing specialized pediatric ophthalmology care, applying evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes. Actively contribute to education, training, and research while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and quality of care.

Education/Qualifications Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Ophthalmology
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC – Ophthalmology)
      • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – Ophthalmology
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP – Ophthalmology)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES)
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Provide high consultation quality services to Pediatric Ophthalmology  patients.
  • Provide consultation services to the patient as requested.
  •  Supervise Ophthalmology of lower grades, with particular reference to staff physicians
  •  Teach  and supervise Ophthalmology residents lower in the grades in Ophthalmology Residency Program.
  • Participate in and departmental initiate and hospital teaching activities.
  • Participate in and initiate research activities.
  • Participate in committees and other administrative functions as needed.
  •  Maintain a list of privileges, and work within administrative the confines functions of that perimeter.
  • Understand and the adhere quality to all  hospital  policies and procedures pertaining to Department medical of practice.
  • Participate in the quality improvements and reviews conducted by the department of Ophthalmology
  •  Perform Other Related duties as appropriate and as assigned
  • Undertake other continuing related duties medical as education appropriate and activities.
