Education/Qualifications Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
      • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • Training mainly on Adult Genetics/Metabolic genetics in addition to prenatal genetics
  • Arabic/English speaking physician.

License:

Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Training and experience in Adult Genetics/Metabolic Genetics and Prenatal Genetics
  • Strong knowledge of genetic and metabolic disorders, including diagnosis, management, and treatment
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages, including pregnant women and newborns
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
  • Diagnosing and treating genetic and metabolic disorders in patients of all ages, including newborns, children, adults, and pregnant women
  • Performing comprehensive genetic assessments, including family history and physical examination
  • Ordering and interpreting genetic tests and laboratory results
  • Providing genetic counseling and support to patients and their families
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex medical conditions
  • Keeping up-to-date with advances in genetics and metabolic disorders, and incorporating new treatments and technologies into clinical practice
  • Participating in research and educational activities to advance the field of clinical genetics and metabolic disorders.
