Principal Scientist

Summary

Leads and develops research/service program(s), capable of manages diverse research team(s) and mentors scientific staff, and collaborates with other Scientist and Clinician both within and outside the Hospital, to obtain external funding that align with the institution’s strategic direction as assigned, and supervises PhD and master’s students.

Education / Qualification Required:

• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree or Doctor of Science (DSc) Degree from an accredited institution in a scientific discipline relevant to the research field is required.

Experience:

• Minimum Twelve  (12) years post doctorate experience as an independent professional within his/her field required

License:

• Current and in a Good Standing License to practice in country of residence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops a program strategy and implementation plan such as short and long term goals and objectives for research programs within the mission and goals of the Research Centre and Hospital.
• Leads primary responsibility for defining the methodology for conducting research and evaluating research results in order to ensure the highest standards of research practice and quality.
• Provides technical and scientific knowledge. Assistant to junior and senior staff within the research program.
• Leads and/or collaborates with multidisciplinary teams within and outside the Research Centre as assigned.
• Evaluates and maintains hierarchical structure for scientific and technical staff to oversee various projects within the research program.
• Analyses and interprets complex experimental outcome.
• Follows all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
• Follows all hospital related policies and procedures.
• Participates in self and other’s education, training and development, as applicable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
