Summary

Responsible to independently or under the supervision of senior radiographers perform all interventional imagery procedures, analyze output and report to supervisor as needed.

Education / Qualification Required:

  • BS Degree in Radiography
  • Associate Degree/Diploma in Radiography

Experience:

Minimum Two (2) years of experience post qualifications

License:

Valid and in a good Standing License in current country of practice

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a reference in their section
  • Assists supervisor in ensuring proper work standards implemented in general section.
  • Reviews exam orders/requisitions, reviews corresponding protocol and, if needed, asks questions of senior(s) and prepares for exams.
  • Identifies patients following the hospital identification policy.
  • Explains procedures to patients. 
  • Prepares equipment, supplies.
  • Positions patient and attaches or adjusts immobilizing and shielding devices to ensure precise patient position, patient comfort, and to minimize patient exposure to x-rays.
  • Selects and adjusts if needed proper sitting for each projection to produce proper images.
  • Monitors patient condition during and after procedure to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Retrieves information from computer and processes information in the proper format for interpretation by the Radiologist and/or archiving.
  • Evaluates completed tests for quality and completeness. 
  • Documents all studies performed.
  • Performs quality control studies on equipment. Informs supervisor of equipment malfunction or need for repair and documents.
  • Cleans equipment and room and restores all equipment and supplies for subsequent use.
  • Participates in staff meetings, in-services and/or continuing education.
  • Assists in training and supervision of students, interns and trainees.
  • Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
  • Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
