
Radiology Consultant
Summary
Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Radiology in accordance with the current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Organization policies and procedures in Saudi Arabia
Education / Qualification Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: The American Board of Radiology (ABR)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPS or CCFP – Radiology )
- UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – Radiology
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College – Radiology (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
License:
- Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret and report various imaging studies, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine imaging.
- Perform and oversee image-guided procedures such as biopsies, drain placements, and interventional radiology treatments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide accurate diagnoses and contribute to patient management plans.
- Supervise and mentor Associate Consultants, Assistant Consultants, radiology residents, and medical students.
- Participate in on-call duties and provide expert consultation for emergency and complex imaging cases.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, quality control measures, and radiation safety guidelines.
- Engage in clinical research, academic activities, and continuous medical education initiatives.
- Implement evidence-based practices and contribute to the development of imaging protocols and guidelines.
- Utilize advanced imaging technologies to enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient care and imaging services.
