Effective and professional management of financial resources, staff, and workflow of the cardiology diagnostic Services.

Education/Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardio Vascular program or allied health specialized program in Cardio Vascular Technology of NLT 2 years syllabus.
  • AND Registration with cardiovascular credentialing international, the American registry of diagnostic medical sonographers, UK registration council for clinical physiologists, the Canadian association of cardiopulmonary technologists or The Society of Cardiopulmonary Technology New Zealand or equivalent.

Desired:

  • Graduate of an approved cardiovascular technology or clinical physiology (cardiology) program leading to a degree of NLT 3 year’s diploma or a degree or 3 year diploma in Radiography.
  • ACLS recommend
  • Registration with cardiovascular credentialing international, American registry of diagnostic medical sonographers, UK registration council for clinical physiologists, The Canadian association of cardiopulmonary technologists or equivalent

Experience:

  • MInimum Eight (8)  years of relevant experience of which minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership responsibility in a large healthcare organization

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Manager of Cardiology Diagnostics;

  • Demonstrates and leads/supervises the delivery of non-invasive cardiac technical services.
  • Facilitates and manages to balance the team, patient-related and professional activities in accordance with departmental requirements and undertakes prioritization of referrals and waiting list management.
  • Supervision of the team including objective setting, appraisals, training, annual leave, and reflective practice.
    In collaboration with physician leadership;
  • Provide an efficient and effective service.
  • Develops and Implements clinical procedures.
  • Ensures delivery of coordinated multidisciplinary service.

Accountabilities
Participation in and evidence of departmental quality metrics and productivity.

  • Completion of departmental compliance audits.
  • Maintenance of and standardization of procedure protocols
  • Evidence departmental education programs.
  • Participation in 50% clinical activity as per job plan.

Role-Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains and updates ECG specific protocols including, but not limited to, ECG, Holter Analyzers, and Exercise Stress Testing.
  • Maintains records of productivity and performance specific to the ECG lab, including but not limited to, turnaround time for electrocardiograms and Holter reports.
  • Works in collaboration with the physician leadership to monitor and reports on clinical audits including critical ECG and Telemetry lab findings.
  • Works in collaboration with physician leadership for quality assurance and auditing to maintain or aim for international lab accreditation.
  • Upholds meticulous departmental education programs aligned with required bi-annual CME and departmental needs of staff upskilling.
