
Transplant Nephrology Consultant
Summary
Responsible for diagnose and manage acute and long-term infectious complications of solid organ transplantation, like (hematologic, cardiovascular, and metabolic) of kidney/kidney-pancreas transplant recipients in the inpatient setting.
Education / Qualification Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
- UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
License:
Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes shared responsibility with Consultant Renal Transplant Surgeon for the management of new renal transplant recipients.
- Assumes full responsibility for care, management and follow-up of renal transplant patients following discharge from the renal transplant ward.
- Attends sub-specialty clinic
- Provides consultative service as required.
- Participates in the on-call schedule of the Renal Transplant Program.
- Performs special procedures, as required.
- Participates in the Renal Transplant Committee, Renal Transplant Collaborative Practice Committee and other committees as required.
- Participates in research activities.
- Supervises fellows and assistant physicians.
- Participates in the training and teaching of fellows.
- Participates in the educational activities of the Renal Transplant Program.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Participates in self and others’ education, training and development, as applicable.
