Tuberculosis Program Coordinator

  • Assesses and prioritize patient care based on patient needs.

  • Develops an individualized plan of care in collaboration with all disciplines.

  • Re-assesses the patient on a continuing basis to include patient's response to treatment, changes in condition and changes in diagnosis.

  • Provides care and updates plan of care based on those identified needs.

  • Reviews patient's file and records to ensure that tuberculosis contacts were correctly identified and refers them for screening.

  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge and nursing skills in aspects of care provided to the tuberculosis outpatient and inpatient.

  • Identifies, provides and documents patient and family educational needs.

  • Recognizes and accepts her role and responsibilities as an integral member of the National TB Programme. Acts as a patient advocate to all concerned multi-disciplines.

  • Collaborates in cooperative manner by using appropriate interpersonal communication skills with members of the multi-disciplinary team regarding patient needs.

  • Initiates and assists in the discharge planning process (i.e., deportation of medical commission cases and multi-drug resistant cases).

  • Assumes responsibilities for planning, coordinating and implementing patient care activities related to tuberculosis control.

  • Trains the personnel involved in the National TB Programme and provides on the job training to Health Center and peripheral workers.

Education/Qualifications Required:

  • BS Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health

  • Registered Nurse License from country of origin

  • BLS 

Experience Required:

3 years in clinical related specialty; clinical experience in acute care setting

Language Skills

English Intermediate, Arabic Basic
