Summary
The Staff Nurse , provides professional nursing care in accordance with the mission, vision and values of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre.
Working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals, the nurse assesses patients, plans and delivers appropriate nursing care, monitors clinical progress and responds effectively to changes in patients’ conditions.
Education/Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- The nursing degree must have been completed through classroom-based study. Online or distance-learning nursing degrees are not accepted.
- Must meet Saudi Commission for Health Specialties classification and registration requirements for Nurse Specialist.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of current, full-time clinical experience following completion of the nursing qualification.
- Current experience must be in an acute-care hospital.
- Current clinical experience in Cardiovascular Telemetry Nursing
- Current nursing experience must be from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
License:
- Current and good-standing Registered Nurse license or registration permitting practice in the candidate’s country of residence.
- Must hold current professional nursing license from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
- Perform ongoing cardiovascular and general patient assessments.
- Monitor patients continuously through telemetry and recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms.
- Identify and promptly report changes in cardiac rhythm, vital signs, and overall patient condition.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias, acute coronary syndromes, and clinical deterioration.
- Monitor patients with conditions such as myocardial infarction, heart failure, angina, dysrhythmias, hypertension, and other cardiovascular disorders.
- Provide postoperative and post-procedural care for patients following cardiac and vascular interventions.
- Care for patients following procedures such as cardiac catheterization, PCI, pacemaker insertion, and defibrillator procedures.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and other treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.
- Safely administer and monitor cardiovascular medications, including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, antihypertensives, and other cardiac medications.
- Monitor laboratory results and diagnostic findings and communicate significant changes to the medical team.
- Maintain and monitor peripheral and central intravenous access and other applicable invasive devices.
- Perform pain assessments and implement appropriate pain management interventions.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and update individualized nursing care plans.
- Monitor patients for complications related to cardiovascular disease, procedures, medications, and treatment.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate patient care with the healthcare team.
- Provide patient and family education regarding cardiovascular conditions, medications, procedures, lifestyle changes, and discharge instructions.
- Assist patients with preparation for diagnostic tests and cardiovascular procedures and provide appropriate post-procedure care.
- Support early mobilization and recovery in accordance with the patient’s clinical condition.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, medications, telemetry findings, and patient outcomes.
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and medication safety standards.
- Participate in emergency response and resuscitation activities as required.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and professional development activities.
