Summary

The Staff Nurse , provides professional nursing care in accordance with the mission, vision and values of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre.

Working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals, the nurse assesses patients, plans and delivers appropriate nursing care, monitors clinical progress and responds effectively to changes in patients’ conditions.

Education/Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • The nursing degree must have been completed through classroom-based study. Online or distance-learning nursing degrees are not accepted.
  • Must meet Saudi Commission for Health Specialties classification and registration requirements for Nurse Specialist.

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of current, full-time clinical experience following completion of the nursing qualification.
  • Current experience must be in an acute-care hospital.
  • Current clinical experience in Emergency Nursing. Trauma-centre experience is not required.
  • Current nursing experience must be from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.

License:

  • Current and good-standing Registered Nurse license or registration permitting practice in the candidate’s country of residence.
  • Must hold current professional nursing license from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients presenting with urgent and emergency healthcare needs.
  • Prioritize nursing care according to patients’ clinical conditions and level of urgency.
  • Monitor patients and respond promptly to changes in their conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
  • Provide appropriate nursing interventions during emergency situations.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families.
  • Apply infection-prevention, patient-safety and quality-care standards.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional development and departmental quality-improvement activities.
