Summary
Responsible for the diagnosing and treating skin, hair, and nail conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.
Education / Qualification Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: American Board of Dermatology (ABD)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC) – Dermatology
- UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register in Dermatology
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP) – Dermatology
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-board/equivalent certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland (CCST), United Kingdom (CCT) Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden OR Switzerland,
- Sub-Specialties: Minimum of two (2) years of experience post-sub-specialty certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, or the UK.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience after obtaining the main specialty qualification in United Kingdom (CESR) Portugal, Spain, or Italy.
- Sub-Specialties: Minimum of four (4) years of experience after obtaining the sub-specialty qualification in Portugal, Spain, or Italy.
License:
- Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, vascular anomalies, genodermatoses, and infectious dermatoses.
- Perform inpatient consultations and outpatient clinical visits; conduct dermatologic procedures appropriate for pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with pediatrics, allergy/immunology, rheumatology, oncology, and other subspecialties to provide integrated care.
- Educate and counsel patients and families on skin care, treatment plans, and preventive measures in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Participate in teaching rounds, case conferences, and continuing medical education activities. Involvement in research or clinical trials is encouraged.
- Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
