Summary

The Staff Nurse , provides professional nursing care in accordance with the mission, vision and values of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre.

Working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals, the nurse assesses patients, plans and delivers appropriate nursing care, monitors clinical progress and responds effectively to changes in patients’ conditions.

Education/Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• The nursing degree must have been completed through classroom-based study. Online or distance-learning nursing degrees are not accepted.
• Must meet Saudi Commission for Health Specialties classification and registration requirements for Nurse Specialist.

Experience Post-Qualifications:

• Minimum two years of current, full-time clinical experience following completion of the nursing qualification.
• Current experience must be in an acute-care hospital.
• Current clinical experience in Radiology Care.
• Current nursing experience must be from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.

License:

• Current and good-standing Registered Nurse license or registration permitting practice in the candidate’s country of residence.
• Must hold current professional nursing license from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assess patients before, during, and after radiology and interventional procedures.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging and procedures according to clinical requirements.
• Review patient history, medications, allergies, vital signs, and relevant laboratory results before procedures.
• Establish and maintain IV access and administer medications, IV fluids, and contrast agents as prescribed.
• Monitor patients during procedures for changes in vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, and overall condition.
• Recognize and respond promptly to adverse reactions to contrast media, medications, or procedures.
• Provide nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
• Assist physicians and the radiology team during procedures as required.
• Maintain appropriate infection prevention and patient safety practices.
• Monitor patients following procedures and provide appropriate post-procedure care.
• Assess and manage pain, nausea, and other patient symptoms as required.
• Monitor procedure sites for bleeding, swelling, or other complications.
• Maintain accurate and complete nursing documentation and patient records.
• Provide clear handover and communicate relevant patient information to the receiving healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families on procedure preparation, recovery, and follow-up instructions.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations and follow established hospital protocols.
