Summary

Responsible and accountable for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment including planning, implementation and evaluation of specialized care to a specific patient population initiates research and staff education and development activities

Education/Qualifications Required:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with clinical focus required
  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure
  • Specialty qualification related to Wound Care
  • WOCN and board certification required.

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Six (6) years acute care hospital experience with minimum two (2) years specialty experience required

License:

  • Current and in Good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtains clinical histories, conducts physician examinations and obtains tests related to area of specialization
  • Develops implements and evaluates patients plant of care
  • Makes diagnostic decisions based on interpretation and evaluation of patient’s data, tests results and symptoms
  • Prescribes medications
  • Performs investigations and provides treatments and therapies based on specialty
  • Counsels and advises patients on issues related to specialist area
  • Holds Nurse led outpatients clinics
  • Collaborates with physicians regarding diagnostic and treatment options
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team
  • Supervises management of patient care provided by Clinical Specialists
  • Utilizes principles of research and evidence based practice to guide standards of patient care
  • Audits data collection for statistical analysis and initiates performance improvement as necessary based on data and best evidence
  • Develops patient education material and health promotion programs
  • Develops education programs and provides staff development in collaboration with Nursing Development and Saudization
  • Is involved in the development of evidence based standards of care and IPPs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Provides statistical reports
  • Liaison with international Associations
  • Participates in hospital wide committees
  • Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures
  • Participates in self and other’s education, training and development, as applicable
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
