Nurse Manager – VIP Unit
Summary
Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, in close collaboration with medical and other healthcare team members demonstrates advanced nursing knowledge and applies this knowledge to the assessment, diagnosis, delivery and design of nursing care and interventions in the Medical Unit. Function under a collaborative management model where Medicine and Nursing jointly participate in decisions.
Education / Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- OR Associate Degree/Diploma or country equivalent + Bachelor’s in Nursing related field
Experience:
- Experience from North America, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand is required.
- Minimum of Three (3) years of clinical experience post-qualification.
- Minimum of one (1) year in ICU or a related specialty.
License:
Current and in good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the VIP Unit, ensuring the highest level of patient care and service excellence.
- Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff, fostering a professional and collaborative work environment.
- Develop and implement unit-specific policies, procedures, and protocols in alignment with hospital standards and patient needs.
- Monitor patient care delivery to ensure compliance with established safety, quality, and confidentiality standards.
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain optimal patient-to-nurse ratios.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care services for VIP patients.
- Ensure culturally sensitive care that respects the unique needs, preferences, and expectations of VIP patients and families.
- Address patient and family concerns promptly, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and service recovery when necessary.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify areas for improvement, and develop professional development plans for staff.
- Facilitate staff training, orientation, and competency assessments to maintain a high-performing team.
- Monitor and manage the unit’s budget, resources, and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and overall service quality within the VIP Unit.
- Act as a liaison between nursing staff and hospital administration, advocating for the unit’s needs and priorities.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities and administrative reports.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
- Implement and uphold infection control practices to protect patients and staff.
- Participate in hospital committees, task forces, and strategic planning activities as needed.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence among staff.
- Respond to emergencies and critical incidents, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals and objectives of the VIP Unit and the organization.
