skills assessment and development for nursing personnel, nursing students, interns and residents within a clinical specialty.

Education / Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • OR Associate Degree/Diploma or country equivalent + Bachelor’s in Nursing related field

Experience:

  • Experience from North America, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience post-qualification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year in Endoscopy or a related specialty.

License:

Current and in good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced nursing knowledge and clinical competence in endoscopy procedures and care, serving as a clinical resource for staff.
  • Maintain high visibility in the unit with a minimum of 90% clinical presence to support staff and ensure optimal patient care.
  • Act as a resource for evidence-based nursing practices specific to endoscopy care, assisting in the management of complex patient cases.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery in the Endoscopy Unit, including pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure support, and post-procedure recovery.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of orientation and skills competency programs for nursing staff and students in coordination with the Nurse Manager and Nursing Education Department.
  • Assess and evaluate the performance of staff and students, providing feedback and coaching to improve skills and knowledge related to endoscopy care.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of unit-based educational activities, ensuring staff maintain competence in advanced endoscopy practices.
  • Assist with clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, care outcomes, and operational efficiency within the unit.
  • Participate in the development and revision of policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines related to endoscopy nursing care.
  • Serve as a mentor and educator for nursing staff, students, and multidisciplinary team members, ensuring knowledge transfer of the latest advancements in endoscopy care.
  • Monitor infection control measures in the Endoscopy Unit, ensuring strict adherence to protocols and best practices.
  • Provide support for staff in handling patient concerns or complications, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when needed.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to assess the learning needs of staff and develop individualized development plans to address those needs.
  • Advocate for patient safety and quality care, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation related to staff education, competency evaluations, and performance improvement activities.
  • Engage in clinical research activities and contribute to the dissemination of findings that advance the field of endoscopy nursing care.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure patient-centered care.
  • Assume responsibility for own professional growth, actively pursuing opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in endoscopy nursing.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned, supporting the goals and operational efficiency of the Endoscopy Unit.
