- BS Degree / Diploma
- ASCP (USA), CSMLS (Canada), Fellowship/Membership of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technologists (UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand) or equivalent from other countries in Western Europe
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience post registration / certification in an acute care hospital
