Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, in close collaboration with medical and other healthcare team members demonstrates advanced nursing knowledge and applies this knowledge to the assessment, diagnosis, delivery and design of nursing care and interventions in the Antenatal Department. Function under a collaborative management model where Medicine and Nursing jointly participate in decisions.

Education/Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Two (2) years of clinical experience post qualification
  • Minimum One (1) year in the Antenatal Department 

License:

Current and in good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to pregnant women admitted for observation, medical management, or high risk pregnancy monitoring.
  • Perform systematic maternal assessments including vital signs, fetal heart rate monitoring, uterine activity, and assessment of maternal well being.
  • Monitor and manage high risk conditions such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, preterm labor, placenta previa, and multiple pregnancies.
  • Interpret cardiotocography findings and promptly report abnormal fetal or maternal changes.
  • Administer prescribed medications including antihypertensives, insulin, corticosteroids, and tocolytics within the scope of the Registered Nurse license.
  • Collaborate closely with obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine specialists, midwives, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide patient education on pregnancy complications, fetal movement monitoring, medication compliance, and warning signs requiring urgent care.
  • Support patients experiencing prolonged hospitalization with emotional support and clear communication.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to hospital policies and antenatal care standards.
  • Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control measures.
  • Participate in obstetric emergency response when required.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at improving maternal and fetal outcomes.
  • Participate in clinical audits and evidence based practice activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and accountability in all aspects of care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and competency validation in maternal health nursing.
