Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, in close collaboration with medical and other healthcare team members demonstrates advanced nursing knowledge and applies this knowledge to the assessment, diagnosis, and delivering of comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in alignment with established clinical standards.

Education/Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Experience from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand is a must.
  • Minimum Two (2) years of clinical experience post qualification
  • Minimum One (1) year in the Mental Health Unit 

License:

Current and in good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate advanced nursing knowledge and clinical competence in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit.
  • Act as an advisor and resource person within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit.
  • Work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team within the remit of the Registered Nurse (RN) license to provide advanced nursing care to children and adolescents with mental health conditions.
  • Act as an advisor and resource person for current evidence-based nursing practice information in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team.
  • Function as a patient advocate for children and adolescents receiving mental health services.
  • Maintain documentation and record keeping that verify activities according to department guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records, reports, and results related to Mental Health Services.
  • Participate in research activities and support the use of best practice guidelines in Child and Adolescent Mental Health nursing.
  • Assess patient and family educational needs and readiness to learn, and support discharge planning using available resources.
  • Demonstrate respect, compassion, and cultural sensitivity toward patients, families, and staff.
  • Advocate for excellence in mental health patient care and patient rights.
  • Lead and participate in the development of nursing initiatives or educational programs aimed at improving patient quality and experience.
  • Undertake clinical audits and participate in clinical improvement activities that support nursing practice development.
  • Maintain infection prevention and control measures according to hospital policy.
  • Participate in the evaluation of systems and programs to improve patient outcomes and service effectiveness in Mental Health Services.
  • Make recommendations for changes based on evidence-based practice and clinical guidelines.
  • Lead and participate in the development and review of policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines.
  • Serve as a professional role model, consultant, and educator for nursing staff.
  • Support orientation and clinical development of new nursing staff.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with healthcare team members.
  • Assume responsibility for own actions, decisions, and professional conduct.
  • Demonstrate initiative in the performance of duties with minimal supervision.
  • Support staff during complex or high-risk clinical situations.
  • Participate in crisis management and behavioral intervention planning for children and adolescents.
  • Promote a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
