Genetics/Metabolics Consultant
Summary
To preside high quality patient care in the assigned subspecialty of the Department of Genetic and Precision Medicine (GPM).
Education/Qualifications Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
- UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
License:
Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care that meets or exceeds the standards set by the JCIA/CBAHI
- To provide specialized care for pediatric patients on the in-patient and outpatient services
- Participates in the various hospital/departmental medical reviews and investigations.
- Supervise and involve in the research study/works of the junior staff
- Participate in the Quality Improvement Management.
- To provide consultations to other divisions with the Department of Pediatrics and to other department within the hospital as requested.
- Participates actively in departmental educational program development
- To teach and supervise Assistant Consultant, Interns and Residents in the Department of Genetic Precision
- Participates in the on-call schedule of the Department as well in assigned subspecialty on-call rotations, in Accordance with the rules and regulations of the Department
- Fulfills his/her obligations related to Patient Records
- To serve on medical staff committees as directed by the Chairman of Department of Genetic Precision Medicine
- To abide by the rules, policy and procedure of the Department and the Hospital
- To be responsible for the patients under his care.
- Performs other job related duties as directed by the Chairman of Department of Genetic and Precision Medicine and the Executive Director of the Medical Services
