Summary

As a Senior Consultant in Interventional Pulmonology, you will provide expert-level care for complex respiratory conditions and lead advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic procedures. You will play a key role in service development, clinical leadership, and training of junior physicians while contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives.

Education/Qualifications Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) – Pulmonary and Critical Care/Interventional Pulmonology
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) – Pulmonology
      • UK & Ireland: CCT in Orthopedic Medicine and GMC Specialist Register
      • Australia & New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) – Pulmonology
      • Western Europe: Equivalent board certification

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum (5) years of experience as a Consultant in interventional Pulmonology

License:

  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Lead the assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex pulmonary conditions
  • Perform advanced interventional procedures 
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior consultants, fellows, and residents
  • Work closely with thoracic surgery, oncology, ICU, and radiology teams
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and support accreditation standards
  • Participate in research, audits, and academic publications
  • Contribute to teaching programs, CME activities, and fellowship training
  • Support service development and protocol implementation
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, documentation, and ethical practice
  • Participate in hospital committees and strategic planning
  • Represent HMC in regional and international clinical collaborations
