Summary

Responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and surgical and non-surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions in infants, children, and adolescents. The role includes providing specialist clinical care, leading multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to teaching, research, and service development.

Education/Qualification:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand. 
      • USA: American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC)
      • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized outpatient and inpatient care for pediatric orthopedic patients.
  • Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures related to congenital and acquired musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Manage pediatric trauma, fractures, and deformity correction cases.
  • Diagnose and treat conditions such as scoliosis, clubfoot, limb length discrepancies, hip dysplasia, and neuromuscular disorders.
  • Participate in on-call rotas and provide emergency orthopedic cover as required.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and fellows.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement projects, and patient safety initiatives.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
