Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, in close collaboration with medical and other healthcare team members demonstrates advanced nursing knowledge and applies this knowledge to the assessment, diagnosis, delivery and design of nursing care and interventions in the Medical Unit. Function under a collaborative management model where Medicine and Nursing jointly participate in decisions.

Education / Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • OR Associate Degree/Diploma or country equivalent + Bachelor’s in Nursing related field

Experience:

  • Experience from North America, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience post-qualification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year in antenatal or a related specialty.

License:

Current and in good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate advanced nursing knowledge and clinical competence in ICU care.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide advanced nursing care, including nurse-led clinics, within the scope of the RN license.
  • Serve as an advisor and resource for evidence-based nursing practices specific to ICU care.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Advocate for patients, ensuring their rights and needs related to ICU care are met.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with department guidelines.
  • Protect confidentiality of all records, reports, and results related to ICU care.
  • Act as an expert educator for clinical staff and actively participate in teaching and mentoring nurses and the multidisciplinary team on ICU care practices.
  • Engage in research activities and disseminate findings to enhance practice and improve patient outcomes in ICU care.
  • Assess patient and family educational needs, ensuring readiness to learn, and support discharge planning with appropriate resources.
  • Demonstrate respect, compassion, and cultural sensitivity toward patients, families, and team members.
  • Lead and contribute to nursing initiatives and educational programs focused on improving patient outcomes and experiences in ICU care.
  • Conduct clinical audits and participate in research to advance nursing practice in ICU care.
  • Collaborate in Quality Improvement Projects and maintain infection control measures in ICU care.
  • Evaluate systems and programs for optimizing patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness related to ICU care.
  • Provide recommendations for system improvements based on evidence-based guidelines.
  • Lead the development and review of policies, procedures, and clinical practice guidelines for ICU care.
  • Serve as a professional role model, consultant, and educator in ICU care.
  • Develop and maintain professional networking relationships with hospital employees, students, and faculty.
  • Take responsibility for personal actions, decisions, and behaviors, demonstrating initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
