
Head IVF Laboratory (Fertility & Reproductive Medicine, Women’s)
We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and passionate candidate who will be responsible for leading the activities and functions of the In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) laboratory, ensuring the highest standards of practice and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Summary
Within the mission, vision, and values of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, the candidate will be responsible for overseeing the IVF laboratory operations, ensuring all procedures are properly conducted, maintained, validated, and aligned with health and safety guidelines. The candidate will serve as a technical expert and leader, providing guidance and direction to IVF laboratory assistants, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring high-quality work.
Education/Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
Master’s or PhD in Reproductive Biology, Embryology, or related field is preferred.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Experience from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand is a must.
- Minimum Ten (10 ) years of experience in related field out of which, Minimum Five (5) years in managerial capacity.
License:
- License from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand is a must.
- Current BLS/ACLS required
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the activities and functions of the IVF laboratory, ensuring efficacy, reliability, and adherence to laboratory health practices, safety guidelines, and relevant policies and procedures.
- Work closely with management to develop and review the laboratory procedure manual, policies, and protocols to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Conduct thorough investigations of all accidents and near-misses, implement preventive measures, document incidents, and propose strategies to mitigate future occurrences.
- Monitor the department’s IVF programs, collect and analyze data from various sources, including IVF Laboratory Information Systems, to develop informative monthly and annual reports for management.
- Ensure staff follow proper IVF laboratory processes, correctly use equipment, and appropriately label and dispose of materials and chemicals.
- Develop, review, and evaluate research projects within the department, analyzing data to identify trends and provide insights for management decisions.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate departmental work through subordinate staff, assigning projects, reviewing work methods, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage the performance and activities of staff, monitor workload and administrative processes, and implement productivity standards to optimize efficiency.
- Act as a mentor and resource person for laboratory personnel, fostering professional growth and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Attend relevant conferences and meetings to stay updated on advancements in the field and contribute to improving departmental performance.
- Prepare and present reports and other necessary correspondence to management and key stakeholders.
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
