Hematology Consultant
Summary
Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Hematology in accordance with the current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Organization policies and procedures in Saudi Arabia
Education / Qualification Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: The American Board of Hematology (ABH)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPS or CCFP -Hematology )
- UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – Hematology
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College – Hematology (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
License:
- Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Independently provide direct patient care in Adult Hematology. (Ward rounds, clinics, On- calls).
- Independently provide consultations to other specialties in the hospital.
- Perform Bone marrow aspirates, biopsies and other related procedures.
- Prescribe and administer medications (chemotherapeutic agents).
- Participate in the department I division administrative meetings.
- Participate in the department I division educational meetings (journal club, tumor board, lectures, etc)
- Participate in the department I division research activities.
- Participate in the hospital / department committees upon request.
- To supervise the sub consultant physicians.
- Participate in training and education of rotating residents and junior staff members.
- Perform and cover other duties as delegated by the chairman or division head.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
