Summary
As a Consultant Plastic Reconstructive Surgeon at King Fahad Military Medical Complex you will specialize in minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. Your expertise in vascular and non-vascular interventions will contribute to high-quality patient care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams in an advanced clinical setting
Education / Qualifications Required
- Basic medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Post-qualification certification from one of the following:
- USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
- UK & Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
- Australia & New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years post-board certification for candidates from USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and France (DES).
- Minimum 5 years post-board certification for candidates from Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece, and France (DIS).
License & Certifications
- Current and in Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
- BLS/ACLS Certification (Basic & Advanced Life Support).
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform complex reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery procedures.
- Conduct microsurgical reconstruction for trauma, oncologic, and congenital defects.
- Manage burn injuries, including acute care and post-burn reconstruction.
- Perform hand surgery, nerve repair, and tendon transfers.
- Provide facial and craniofacial reconstructive surgery, including cleft and maxillofacial procedures.
- Assess and diagnose patients, developing tailored surgical plans.
- Oversee preoperative counseling and risk assessment.
- Monitor post-surgical recovery, ensuring optimal healing and functional outcomes.
- Address complications and provide long-term reconstructive care.
- Work alongside a team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists.
- Participate in trauma and oncology boards to determine reconstructive approaches.
- Coordinate with dermatology and orthopedic teams for integrated treatment plans.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, surgical residents, and medical students.
- Conduct training workshops on new surgical techniques and technologies.
- Deliver lectures and case studies to enhance knowledge within the department.
- Engage in clinical research to advance plastic and reconstructive surgery techniques.
- Contribute to medical journals and present findings at conferences.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in reconstructive surgery and implement best practices.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement programs within the department.
- Support the hospital’s mission in providing exceptional patient care and medical excellence.
