Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, responsible for providing technical support on all works that are within the scope of Safety Management by coordinating and monitoring all safety programs, inspections and training including evaluating available resources for optimal utilization. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with all relevant policies, safety standards and regulations.

Education/Qualifications Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
      • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support on all works within the scope of Safety Management to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standard, policies and procedure, Central Board of Accreditation of Health Institutes (CBAHI) Joint Commission International (JCI), Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and general duty of care.
  • Coordinate and monitor all activities pertaining to safety & risk management programs, assessments, inspections and training and evaluate available resources for optimal utilization.
  • Participate in planning, developing and checking the compliance of all activities in the organization relating to safety, security, hazardous materials/waste management, accident and incident prevention and investigation, emergency preparedness, hazard identification, evaluation and control, and associate training risk education strategies for construction and renovation involving other relevant departments (i.e. Healthcare Technology Management, Facilities Management, etc.).
  • Assess and coordinate with immediate supervisor the necessary functional planning, budgeting and scheduling for the department.
  • Maintain all records.
  • Plan, coordinate and implement the MNGHA Safety Management Plan manual, policies and procedure throughout the organization through auditable, centralized and local processes in services provided.
  • Conduct Facilities Management Safety & Risk Assessment to identify areas for improvement and reduce risks throughout.
  • Monitor and implement approved systems, such as Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), Preconstruction Safety & Risk Assessment for new constructions and renovation; recommend standards for new projects plans, in compliance with Life Safety Code 101 (LSC 101). Saudi Building Safety Codes.
  • Develop and implement “Safe and Sustainable Purchasing Program” and “Safe and Sustainable Building Program” as applicable in the assigned area.
  • Develop standards safety performance indicators, evaluate and monitor performance and initiate or make recommendations for corrective and preventive action.
  • Evaluate safety training programs for all hospital staff and provide related trainings, as applicable.
  • Design and implement regulatory data collection processes and establish data reporting.
  • Prepare safety and departmental related reports for senior management, such as findings from safety investigations calculation for cost of accidents, incidents, incidents and near-misses.
  • Identify opportunities/priorities/trends to prevent accidents, incidents and near-misses.
  • Develop, implement and maintain readiness to respond appropriately to major disaster events.
  • Evaluate hazard registration program.
  • Perform other job related duties.
