Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, responsible for an overall development of techniques in analyzing laboratory samples/specimen and interpreting results use for technical and clinical consultative services to physicians on diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases in line with clinical standard practice, policies, regulating and accrediting bodies’ standards.

Education/Qualifications Required:

  • PhD in an appropriate science such as Clinical Science or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in Clinical Pathology

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Experience from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand is a must.
  • Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES). Out of which, Minimum of two (2) years experience in tertiary care center in the appropriate specialty after certification is a MUST
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS). Out of which, Minimum of two (2) years experience in tertiary care center in the appropriate specialty after certification is a MUST

License:

  • License from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand is a must.
  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
  • Current BLS/ACLS required

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, update and develop new Laboratory tests and techniques in the assigned area. Assist in the preparation and updating of the laboratory manuals.
  • Provide consulting services to physicians on interpretation and correlation of the laboratory tests and all technical aspects of testing. Review the outgoing laboratory requests and the critical values of laboratory tests.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, laboratory health and safety standards, Joint Commission International (JCI) standards, College of American Pathology (CAP) standards, Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) standards, and other applicable regulating and accrediting bodies’ standards.
  • Participate in educational and professional growth activities related to the assigned area including teaching, training verification, competency testing and continuing medical education program activities, as applicable.
  • Participate in research projects in accordance with the established policies.
  • Perform other job related duties.
