Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian National Guard – Health Affairs, to provide patient care; education and training for Associate Consultants, Assistant Consultants and  Interventional Radiology  Residents, Medicine residents, National Guard physicians; supervise clinics, monitor quality improvement program; undertake clinical research; self education and participate in on-calf schedule of the Division of  Interventional Radiology

Education / Qualification Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Interventional Radiology (ABPIR)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC – Interventional Radiology )
      • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Interventional Radiology
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP – Interventional Radiology )
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
  • BLS/ACLS

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides high quality care to patients in the area of Interventional Radiology
  • Operate in the OR within his approved privileges
  • Physically present in the OR to assess and supervise his assistant to conduct Interventional Radiology when his assistant has no approved privileges to carry out the procedure under the category of Solo in the privileges form
  • Expected to be present and productive during the normal working hours
  • To be available for contact at any time while in town
  • Carry on administrative duties as assigned by the Section Head, Chairman of Interventional Radiology or the Executive Director, Medical Services, CR
  • Continuously upgrades his academic requirements and skills by actively participating in the continuing medical education program in the hospital
  • Involves in the instruction and education of the residents
  • Encouraged to undertake research activities
  • Reports to the department chairman through his division head
  • Attends and participates in division meetings and rounds
  • Attends and participates in all educational program of the division and other meetings as requested by the Section Head or Chairman of Interventional Radiology
  • Attends and participates in the department of Interventional Radiology meeting
  • Attendance of collective division activities should not be less than 75 percent
  • Meet the CME requirements of Saudi specialization
  • Responsible for submitting approved TRA by the Section Head, to block his clinic or provide approved coverage by completing the clinic blocking form through the proper chain of command and blocking the OR prior to submitting the TRA to the Chairman for final approval. Ensure approval of proper TRA by the Chairman before going on leave.
  • Maintain the spirit of teamwork in the Division of Interventional Radiology
  • Participates in the ongoing quality management program
