Summary:

Within the mission, vision and values of PMBAH Al Madinah, in close collaboration with medical and other healthcare team members demonstrates advanced nursing knowledge and applies this knowledge to the assessment, diagnosis, delivery and design of nursing care and interventions in the Assistant Nurse Manager Speciality A Operating Room area. Function under a collaborative management model where Medicine and Nursing jointly participate in decisions.

Responsible for providing clinical supervision to assigned employees and Assistant Nurse Manager Speciality A Operating Room area clinical operations with other departmental disciplines to ensure that safe, effective and efficient patient care is provided.

Education/Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Associate Degree Nurses from North America with evidence of passing the National exam is required (USA: NCLEX – RN & Canada: Licensing Exam)
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management or Healthcare Administration
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) board certification or equivalent postgraduate qualification in specialty area

Experience:

Required:
  • Minimum Two (2)  years post-graduate Registered Nurse experience in a critical care setting is required
  • Minimum Two (2)  years in a senior charge nurse position, or equivalent
  • Strong MedSurg ICU background experience is a must

License:

  • Current and in good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Patient Care

  • Completes timely patient admission and ongoing assessments, plans and updates plan of care based on individual patient needs
  • Provides direct care and evaluates outcomes, incorporating principles of family centered care
  • Monitors and documents patients’ condition and effectiveness of care and interventions
  • Assesses educational needs of patients and significant others considering cultural needs and other special concerns
  • Provides teaching and educational material to the patient and/or significant as appropriate
  • Validates and documents patient and family understand of teaching
  • Administers prescribed medications in accordance with approved policies and protocols, utilizing barcode scanning
  • Carries out prescribed treatments in accordance with approved policies, protocols and educational material procedures

  • Reports errors and near-misses
  • Responsible for completing charge capture education and in-service training for their Institute within PMBAH Al Madinah. When charges are not captured automatically the nurse will complete within Epic in real time, Perioperative Services within 24 business hours
