Summary
Responsible for supporting both the office of the Chief Nursing Officer on all matters related to professional nursing services as well as providing senior nursing support to clinical activation. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, he/she maintains communications with the nursing staff, hospital personnel, Corporate Management, and external individuals and groups to achieve the objectives of HMC.

Education / Qualification Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Midwifery/Mental Health Nursing is Required
  • Master/PhD in Healthcare related field is Required

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Fourteen (14 )years post registration nursing experience
  • Including a minimum of Seven (7) years of Senior clinical/ leadership/ management/ education experience

License:

  • Current and in Good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Candidate with exposure to the process of obtaining Magnet accreditation – Working in magnet facility.
  • Expert with universities affiliation with academic health sectors – as HMC is working with local universities and the activities are increasing with specialization and certification plans/programs.
  • Working with and having the ability to supervise, guide and create a clear career pathway for the  Advanced Nursing Practitioner, Clinical Nurse  Specialist (CNS)
  • Provide professional advice to Nursing Teams across HMC facilities
  • In collaboration and as directed by the CNO, provides and leads on the development and implementation of high level Nursing care projects and services
  • Works with CNO in the strategic development and implementation of Nursing Strategy across Hospitals
  • Assists CNO by providing high visible leadership to achieve excellence in delivery of patient care
  • Assists CNO to ensure the provision of skilled safe, holistic, and culturally competent, person-centered nursing care to patients, families, community and society, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team irrespective of healthcare across HMC.
  • Provides support to the CNO to ensure the quality and safety of the nursing and service across HMC is delivered effectively
  • Deputizes for the CNO, and where required acts on behalf of the CNO across organizational wide and facility committees where requested
  • Under delegation of the CNO assists in the governance of professional structures and frameworks
  • Assists in the CNO in the creation and maintenance of environments that develop and support professional nursing best practice
  • Assists the CNO in contributions to HMC business planning.
  • Assists CNO in leading nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making across HMC.
  • Assumes delegated responsibility from CNO (when directed) for staffing and scheduling personnel across HMC. Assignments reflect appropriate utilization of personnel.
  • Assists CNO in fostering a climate conducive to education experiences for nurses and students across HMC.
  • Where deputized by the CNO, evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care, and associated training for nursing staff across HMC.
