Summary

This job is under the Trauma Center at KAMC Jeddah.

Within the mission, vision, and values of Saudi Arabian National Guard – Health Affairs, to provide patient care; education and training for Associate Consultants, Assistant Consultants and Emergency Medicine Residents, Medicine residents, and National Guard physicians; supervise clinics, monitor quality improvement program; undertake clinical research; self-education and participate in on-call schedule of the Division of Emergency Medicine

Education/Qualifications Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Emergency Medicine(ABEM)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC – Emergency Medicine)
      • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register -Emergency Medicine
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP – Emergency Medicine)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum  Three (3)  years experience in leadership position
  • Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
  • Current BLS/ACLS Certificate

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise day-to-day clinical, educational and administrative activities of the division.
  • Supervise and manage the division staff including evaluation, feedback and performance monitoring.
  • Help the Chairman in physicians and staff recruitment and retention of the Division members.
  • Prepare Division annual report.
  • Help the Chairman develop and implement strategic development plan for the Division by developing an action plan conforming to the Department vision.
  • Participate in common Department and institutional functions related to Emergency Medicine in person or through Division representative based on the Chairman request.
  • Complete specific tasks and projects requested by the Chairman in a timely fashion.
  • Chair a monthly staff meeting of the division.
  • Encourage and participate in research activities.
  • Foster mentorship approach for staff especially physicians and help their career development.
  • Assure multidisciplinary, evidence based, guideline driven clinical care in accordance with the accepted standards of internationally recognized professional bodies.
  • To supervise and lead the development of operational policies, guideline and audit program.
  • To advice the division on the implantation of quality assurance and safety of patient care.
  • To advice the NGHA through the Chairman, regarding the division future need for equipment, facilities and staffing, in order to provide up to date patient care.
  • Maintain all requirements for a consultant position at the related Division.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
