Senior Radiation Therapist

Summary

Organizes and assists with all activities for the assigned section. Ensures that the highest possible professional and clinical standards are met according to departmental procedures and policies.

Education / Qualification Required:

• Master’s, Bachelor’s, or Associate Degree/Diploma in Radiation Therapy.

Experience Post-Qualifications:

• Minimum Two (2) years of related experience as a Radiation Therapist if holding Master’s Degree.
• Minimum Four (4) years of related experience as a Radiation Therapist if holding Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum Six (6) years of related experience as a Radiation Therapist if holding Associate Degree/ Diploma.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.

License:

• Valid and in a good Standing License in current country of practice

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Liaises with Physicians, Medical Physicists, Supervisors, Head Nurse, and Radiation Therapists to schedule patients.
• Maintains all necessary supplies and materials.· Ensures that equipment is functioning properly and safety standards are maintained at all times.
• Ensures optimum utilization of equipment and maximum use of resources.
• Maintains effective and efficient communication between staff group within and outside of the Department.
• Assists with departmental and Hospital Performance Improvement (Pl) Plan.
• Evaluates quality assurance and quality control data and maintains the required records.
•  Enhances professional growth and development through continuing education.
•  Assists with training and orientation of new employees.
• Demonstrates higher level to treat or image own specialist workload of patients and maintain relevant documents/e-charting.
• Rotates between areas as experienced practitioner.
• Participates in departmental projects or teaching sessions.
•  Follows all Hospital related Policies and Procedures.
• Participates in self and others’ education, training and development, as applicable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
