Summary

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Anesthesiology in accordance with the current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Organization policies and procedures in Saudi Arabia

Education / Qualification Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate  (FRCPC – Anesthesiology)
      • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – Anesthesiology
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College – Anesthesiology (FRACP)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years  experience in a tertiary care center in the appropriate specialty after certification is a MUST
  • Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
  • Current BLS/ACLS Certificate

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality Anesthesia care to the patient clientele.
  • Provide consultation services to patients as requested.
  • Supervise Anesthesia or lower grades, with particular reference to staff physicians.
  • Teach and supervise residents in the Anesthesia Residency Program.
  • Participate In departmental and hospital teaching activities.
  • Participate In and initiate research activities.
  • Participate In committees and other administrative functions as needed.
  • Maintain a list or privileges, and work within the confines of that perimeter.
  • Understand and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures pertaining to medical practice.
  • Participate In the quality improvement and reviews conducted by the Department of Anesthesia.
  • Perform other related duties as appropriate and as assigned.
  • Undertake continuing medical education activities.
  • Performs other Job-related duties ds assigned.
