Summary

Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions, as well as the provision of medical care in the field of Vascular Surgery in accordance with the current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Organization policies and procedures in Saudi Arabia

Education / Qualification Required:

  1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
  2. Post-qualification certification
    • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.  
      • USA: The American Board of Vascular Surgery (ABVS)
      • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate  (FRCPC – Vascular Surgery )
      • UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – Vascular Surgery
      • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College – Vascular Surgery(FRACP)
      • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

Experience Post-Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two (2) years  experience in a tertiary care center in the appropriate specialty after certification is a MUST
  • Minimum Three (3) years after board / equivalence certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
  • Minimum Five (5) years after board / equivalence certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).

License:

  • Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
  • Current BLS/ACLS Certificate

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the responsibilities outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws.
  • Provide high-quality surgical care within Vascular Surgery.
  • Operate in the OR within approved privileges.
  • Supervise assistants during surgeries if they do not have approved privileges for the procedure.
  • Be present and productive during normal working hours.
  • Be available for contact at all times while in town.
  • Carry out administrative duties as assigned.
  • Participate in continuing medical education programs.
  • Instruct and educate residents.
  • Undertake research activities.
  • Attend division meetings and educational programs.
  • Meet CME requirements of Saudi specialization.
  • Submit approved TRA and block clinic/OR when going on leave.
  • Participate in the quality management program.
  • Maintain teamwork in the Division of Vascular Surgery.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
