Summary

Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, in close collaboration with medical and other healthcare team members demonstrates advanced nursing knowledge and applies this knowledge to the assessment, diagnosis, delivery and design of nursing care and interventions in the Medical Unit. Function under a collaborative management model where Medicine and Nursing jointly participate in decisions.

Education / Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • OR Associate Degree/Diploma or country equivalent + Bachelor’s in Nursing related field

Experience:

  • Experience from North America, Western Europe, Australia, or New Zealand is required.
  • Minimum of Three (3) years of clinical experience post-qualification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year in Endoscopy or a related specialty.

License:

Current and in good Standing Nursing License/Registration (RN) to practice in country of residence

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Endoscopy Unit, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to hospital standards and policies.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines specific to endoscopy care to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous professional development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring seamless communication and effective care delivery throughout the endoscopy process.
  • Monitor and manage staffing levels, schedules, and resource allocation to maintain operational efficiency and meet patient care needs.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and provide timely feedback to promote a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Lead the recruitment, orientation, and retention of qualified nursing personnel, ensuring the unit is staffed with skilled and competent professionals.
  • Evaluate staff competency and facilitate ongoing education and training programs in collaboration with the Nursing Education Department.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards within the Endoscopy Unit, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Act as a liaison between the Endoscopy Unit and other departments, promoting effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Monitor patient outcomes, analyze data, and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery and patient satisfaction.
  • Manage the unit’s budget, controlling expenses and ensuring cost-effective use of resources without compromising patient care quality.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research, and evidence-based practice initiatives to advance the field of endoscopy nursing care.
  • Handle complex patient and staff concerns or complaints, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and needs, ensuring a patient-centered approach in all aspects of care.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve workflow, efficiency, and patient throughput in the Endoscopy Unit.
  • Prepare and present reports on unit performance, including quality metrics, patient outcomes, and operational challenges, to senior leadership.
  • Foster a culture of respect, compassion, and cultural sensitivity among staff when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ensure the unit’s readiness for regulatory inspections and accreditation processes, maintaining all necessary documentation.
  • Assume accountability for the overall performance and outcomes of the Endoscopy Unit, addressing challenges proactively and implementing solutions.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned, supporting the hospital’s mission and objectives.
