Education/Qualifications Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: The American Board of Pediatric Emergency Medicine
- Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (FRCPC -Pediatric Emergency Medicine )
- UK and Ireland: CCT/CCST Specialist Register – Pediatric Emergency Medicine )
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP – Pediatric Emergency Medicine )
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years experience in leadership position
- Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
License:
- Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
- Current BLS/ACLS Certificate
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise day-to-day clinical, educational and administrative activities of the division.
- Supervise and manage the division staff including evaluation, feedback and performance monitoring.
- Help the Chairman in physicians and staff recruitment and retention of the Division members.
- Prepare Division annual report.
- Help the Chairman develop and implement strategic development plan for the Division by developing an action plan conforming to the Department vision.
- Participate in common Department and institutional functions related to Pediatric Emergency Medicine in person or through Division representative based on the Chairman request.
- Complete specific tasks and projects requested by the Chairman in a timely fashion.
- Chair a monthly staff meeting of the division.
- Encourage and participate in research activities.
- Foster mentorship approach for staff especially physicians and help their career development.
- Assure multidisciplinary, evidence based, guideline driven clinical care in accordance with the accepted standards of internationally recognized professional bodies.
- To supervise and lead the development of operational policies, guideline and audit program.
- To advice the division on the implantation of quality assurance and safety of patient care.
- To advice the NGHA through the Chairman, regarding the division future need for equipment, facilities and staffing, in order to provide up to date patient care.
- Maintain all requirements for a consultant position at the related Division.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
