Radiology Supervisor
Summary
As a Radiology Supervisor, the role is expected to provide the highest quality radiology care to patients and clients. Responsible for supervising staff of the service area and implementing all standards of operational procedures in the area. Also responsible for maintaining high quality of service.
Education/Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging program
- Post Primary Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic Radiography/Radiology/Ultrasound
Experience Required:
- Experience from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand is a must
- NLT 6 years of postgraduate experience in an acute care hospital, (of which NLT 2-3 years as a Deputy/Senior Radiographer)
- Familiar with latest developments in modern imaging modalities with wide practical experience
- Proficiency in English
Desired:
- Proficiency in Arabic
License:
- License from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand is a must.
- Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
- BLS/ACLS Certification
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Undertakes a lead role in the implementation of strategic initiatives in the operational plan of the respective service area.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the assigned section.
- Monitors the department service areas’ performance as well as staff performance
- Plans and works with assigned team to provide an efficient and effective service.
- Participates in the proposal and implementation of department policies and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participates in the initiation and implementation of department wide projects.
- Oversees the wastage of materials by appropriate stock rotation and enhances sustainability. Coordinates purchase of consumables.
- Performs all procedures in the assigned modality in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols.
- Evaluates and monitor images produced by subordinates.
- Facilitates and supervises the safe and competent use of all radiology equipment, patient aids and accessories used in the department. Schedules on-site training.
- Maintains a safe patient environment and monitors clinical care carried out in the department.
Accountabilities:
- Handles the financial aspect of the radiology department by contributing to the annual budget review, tracking and calculating expenditures, identifying issues and troubleshooting these.
- Monitors and develops, as necessary, quality improvement indicators to ensure continuous quality improvement & compliance with patient care standards.
